What are the Best Sports-Themed TV Shows and Movies to Binge-Watch?

Spinning Out

If you have been experiencing difficulties on what should go first in the priority lane, then you might relate to this story, Spinning Out. It’s a rollercoaster of emotions for everyone who has a dream, is confused about what is going on, but deadly determined to reach for the stars. 

It is a Netflix Original on 2020, with one season, created by Samantha Stratton. The other main characters are:

Weightlifting Fairy Kim Bok Joo

Something fun but worth the emotions when it’s their times of downfalls, this k-drama won’t frustrate every college-aged and those who want to reminisce their days of the ’20s. 

This is a story of a young woman, Bok-Joo, a college weightlifter and Joon-Hyung’s swimming athlete. Bok-Joo has this strong aura and looks stern on the outside but is actually adorable inside. Then there is this manly Joon-Hyung, who grew up with his relatives and has experienced struggles with his dreams. 

The two are completely different except that they both go to the same school, then it turns out that they were actually childhood best friends in elementary. Romantic, annoying, fun, and nostalgic. Those are the expected vibes if you have ever planned to binge-watch it. Indeed, these actors were effortlessly swag and unforgettable. 

The Korean TV series was directed by Oh Hyun-Jong, Nam Sung-Woo, and written by Yang Hee-Seung, and Kim Soo-Jin. Released in 2016, it has sixteen episodes and one season. The main characters are:

The White Shadow

To the fans of retro films, it is a TV series from 1978 to 1981 produced by Bruce Paltrow aired on CBS with three seasons and a total of fifty-four episodes. It is about a former NBA professional who became a coach to high school in inner-city Los Angeles. 

After his injury, there he became a coach of the young students with problematic characters and depicted social and racial matters. There, instead of becoming frustrated due to its retirement, Ken helped these boys to be a winning team inside and outside the court.

Another k-drama in 2017, Fight for My Way, is a Romantic Comedy with one season and sixteen episodes in KBS2. The main leading stars are:

Dong-Man was in taekwondo in his youth days but became a contract employee. At the same time, Ae-Ra wanted to be an announcer but became an information desk at a department store. They were inseparable and knew everything about each other without any intimate relationship at first. 

The tandem is low-key, but each has a strong characteristic and backstory. Both have started at the bottom but strive for their dreams despite the hamperings in their ways. The tandem was remarkable due to the humor and irresistible charm of the actors.

The Mighty Ducks

It was released last March 2021 with ten episodes on Disney. The production was a joint force of ABC Signature and Brillstein Entertainment. Emilio Estevez and Michael Alan Spiller were the producers of this comedy-drama series with the characters:

The youngsters’ fighting spirit in their old but gold jerseys will keep every child and child at heart to guess the team’s next steps against the known Mighty Ducks. 

Since the first season clicked and debuted, the second season will be released in 2022, with the co-creators Steve Brill, Cathy Yuspa, and Josh Goldsmith.
